Elvis is a sweet, snuggly, energetic 85 lb boy who is looking for a family who is ready to play all day, take him on walks, and committed to giving him ALL the exercise he needs! He was surrendered by his previous owners due to being too rough with their children so any children in his new family must be over 12. His favorite games are tug and fetch, but he can also entertain himself with his toys. Because of his enthusiasm, a physical fence is always preferred, but a supervised tie-out or an invisible fence with professional training may be considered for Elvis provided the family meets all his needs. He is learning that grooming is part of the deal when you’re a golden retriever! He wants to be a very good boy and is doing well with some basic commands. A novice family will be required to take a positive reinforcement obedience class with him to ensure good bonding and a shared communication plan, with proof of registration due at time of adoption.
He (and any adopter) might enjoy pursuing some of the many popular and fun dog sports like agility, barn hunt, scent work, rally, dock diving, and so many more! That's the ultimate in bonding and teamwork! He would definitely prefer to have one of his people home most of the time, but it is not mandatory. He loves to play and wrestle with his golden foster brother; cats are an unknown.
