Special Appeal for Jurny
Update: January 31st, 2023
Good news!
Jurny had her sutures removed last week and she can now resume her dog life. For the first time in ages, she went outside, off leash in her backyard and ran in the snow.
What joy for this girl!!!! Jurny was so happy running and sticking her head in in the snow, just being silly.
Her antibiotics will continue for the next few weeks to treat the infected area between the bladder walls. Thankfully there is no malignancy. She has also healed from her spay.
She will need some follow up tests once she is done with her antibiotics but she is doing so well and has come so far.
Thank you to so many wonderful people who cared and donated to Jurny. We are grateful.
Update: January 20th, 2023
Jurny's lab results came in and indicated that Jurny has a severe infection in her bladder wall. The doctors are not sure how this may have occurred. Jurny is now home and recuperating from surgery. She will be taking Clavamox 500mg 2x per day for the next month, maybe longer, to try and get rid of her infection. Then there will be another ultrasound to check the bladder in about 3-4 weeks.
Thank you to everyone for your kind words and generous donations to help this sweet girl. It is truly heartfelt.
Update: January 15th, 2023
Jurny is home recovering from her surgery at BluePearl last Tuesday, Jan. 10th. The surgeon discovered an unusual mass near her bladder and was able to remove most of it and send it out for biopsy. We will learn more next week when Jurny has her follow-up visit. The question about the incomplete spay was not an issue, according to the doctor. We will provide another update once we know more. In the meantime, Jurny is resting and happy to be home. Thank you so much to all who donated to Jurny's medical fund. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Jurny (Tia) was surrendered to GRRoM in the Summer of 2022. We estimate her age to be 4-6 years. This beautiful golden girl has been through so much, both prior to her surrender to GRRoM, and since then. Jurny was spayed in September at a clinic up north. Following that surgery, she developed what seemed to be a simple UTI. Since then, we have been down a path of many diagnostics, including ultrasounds, X-rays, urinalyses and bloodwork.
On January 5th, her new veterinarian performed an exploratory surgery. He immediately observed multiple issues going on, including what appeared to be an incomplete spay. He recognized that Jurny needed specialized medical treatment and referred her to the specialists at BluePearl. Jurny is scheduled for today, Tuesday, January 10th. The estimate for this surgery is $5,000 - $7,000. All contributions to offset Jurny’s expenses are greatly appreciated. Please use the button below. Thank you so much for your support and prayers for this sweet girl. We will publish an update on her progress as soon as we know.
