In Loving Memory of Bear
Anyone who has followed along with GRRoM has probably heard of Bear, the senior dog who was found wandering alone and in rough shape. He was able to live out his last year being loved and cared for the way all animals deserve. Bear crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on February 7th, 2023. His Foster Family wrote this beautiful tribute to him:
Over a year ago, while scrolling through Facebook, I came across a post from “For The Love of Louis” of this handsome Soul who was living alone wandering the streets of Detroit. He was unkempt and his eyes showed such loneliness and sadness that it captured me. I had to find out who he was and had to save him.
I contacted the Angel Shayla who brought him into her home and then I contacted Karen Vineberg at GRROM and together Bear was delivered to GRROM and brought to our home to foster. When he got to our home, he literally fell out of the van from exhaustion. My husband and I took him to our Vet, Dr. Barb, who did a full assessment on him and then we took him to a groomer. He was so handsome and started coming back to life.
Bear had so many challenges medically over the year and through the wonderful GRROM rescue, he was able to get help and live a good last year of life. I am so thankful to this group and will forever support him. Special thanks to Betty Curran for always being there for Bear.
Bear was happy with us and he bonded well with our pups Wembley and Olive.
Sadly, he went to the Rainbow Bridge this week and is now able to run, play ball, have treats and suffer no more. I know he was in pain but never complained.
We love you Bear and will never forget our time together.
